Sikh Temple Field Trip
To bring our first semester of World History to an official close - and to kickoff a challenging and exciting second semester - all World History students have been invited to participate in a field trip to the Sikh Temple of Oak Creek on Wednesday, January 28th. Students will depart after morning advisory and will return in time for school lunch.
On August 5, 2012, a gunman with ties to white supremacist organizations walked into the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and began a rampage which killed six people, wounded many, and terrorized an entire community. During our field trip to the temple, we will learn a little about the Sikh faith, and also participate in activities and workshops promoting tolerance and understanding across religious, racial and ethnic differences.
